A Sudden Burst of Colour explore new sonic landscapes in their latest track ‘Pulsator’.

“‘Pulsator’ is the sound of Tycho if he were an ageing rock-star going clubbing, and what a magical sound that is.”

A Sudden Burst of Colour explore new sonic landscapes in their latest track ‘Pulsator’.

Hailing from Motherwell, Scotland, A Sudden Burst of Colour are a band unafraid to explore and push musical boundaries. Continuing to build on the electronic elements of their previous release, ‘Transgressor/Decoder’, their latest track, ‘Pulsator’, is a dive into “shimmering, sun-blushed style of post rock.” In adherence to the band’s DYI ethos, the single was produced, recorded and mixed by bass player Calum Farquharson, with artwork and accompanying music video produced by drummer Liam Shaw.

‘Pulsator’ is a track that escapes definition, spanning genres such as shoegaze, chill-wave and electronica with breezy ease and technical elegance. Pulsating, club-perfect beat melds seamlessly into the punchy drums and moody guitar riff, as the landscape of sonic textures opens up before us. Upbeat, yet somewhat wistful and distant, it evokes the thought of something, or someone, far away, standing just beyond the reach of the cascading synths. Grungy, distorted guitars conclude this journey, punctuated by rock-like rhythm that leaves the listener thirsting for more.

‘Pulsator’ is the sound of Tycho if he were an aging rock-star going clubbing, and what a magical sound that is.
