Turn back time with An Hour a Minute’s wistful track “Never Know”.

“A track that is equally suited to the brightest summer day or the darkest, neon lit night, “Never Know” is an intoxicating dive into nostalgia. ”

Turn back time with An Hour a Minute’s wistful track “Never Know”.

Toronto-based synth-pop duo An Hour a Minute create nostalgic, 80s fuelled music that will have you longing for something you never knew you were missing. Darko and George began making music when they were only in high school and have since been working on songs old and new, saturating them with their electrifying sonic style. Their sound intermixes modern freshness with retro sensibilities – like a less cheesy and stripped down version of Japanese City Pop or Future Funk.

Gently opening with synth chords that would make Phil Collins smile, “Never Know” plunges us into a vaporwave-like world of 80s sounds. Bright, sparkling and full of electronic goodness, it’s like a journey into the sunset on some spaceship or a Tron motorcycle. The falsetto vocals are ethereal and wistful, blending wonderfully with the spacy synths and glissandos. Although there are many elements to this track, it never sounds busy or recklessly ambitious, brought masterfully together by an underlying funky base guitar and a steady, warm beat.

A track that is equally suited to the brightest summer day or the darkest, neon lit night, “Never Know” is an intoxicating dive into nostalgia.
