The first insight into Aonian’s world as the first single of his upcoming debut album showcases a blend of contemporary electronic synths and swirling melodies, cascading down dreamy traditional and ethnic soundscapes. Aonian has seen his efforts transformed into success as his recent remix for the Glastonbury brothers, Speakman Sound, has been supported and played by DJ John Digweed.
‘Ascent’ was inspired by conversations with a close friend surrounding history, migration, and cultural identity all of which are perfectly conveyed through moments of pure bliss. ‘Ascent’ references traditional folk elements from his home country, as the Greek born and London based producer has successfully paid homage to his past and present, whilst remaining loyal to an ever-changing cultural identity.
