The latest single from Brandon Colbein is a powerful and emotional ode to the submissive party in a relationship.

The LA-based artist classes himself as ‘a songwriter first and foremost’, and this certainly shows in his newest track ‘Mean to Me’, an open and honest recounting of his own experience of heartbreak. Colbein demonstrates his mastery of the craft both lyrically and sonically in his ability to capture such vulnerability and sentiment and convey both so effortlessly. A real pain can be felt in his vocals, particularly in the opening verse, where the track takes a far more minimalistic approach to song-writing, before engulfing the listener with a punchier and more assertive chorus, heavily laced with percussion.
