French quintet Coral Pink question the complexities of age with permeable dream pop hit ‘People I’ve Known’

‘People I’ve Known’ explores the melancholy of aging, candidly fronting the insecurities of a fading youth through the casual embrace of synthesizers. Pairing echoing vocals with backing melodies of psychedelic pop has a mellowing effect, playfully drifting between genres as an ode to the rich tapestry of adolescent emotion. Indie rock percussion flits in and out of reverberating dream sequences, rejecting traditional form in the pursuit of an authentic sound. Coral Pink find harmony through the unlikeliest of pairings, crafting a soundscape that recognises both the human experience and the transformative powers of music. ‘People I’ve Known’ blurs the distinction between psychedelic and dream pop in a glorious re-write of genre.
