ITS A POSITIVE START FOR DEAFPONY IN BRAND NEW SINGLE ‘BREAK ME’

“ITS A NEW POSITIVE START FOR DEAFPONY IN BRAND NEW SINGLE ‘BREAK ME’

Indie-band deafpony, who have a wide range of influences from The 1975 to Beach House, is back with upbeat single Break Me. The combination of the bright, sparkling guitar playing and the frontman’s charming singing immediately brings you good spirits.

Thematically, this single goes into a different direction than their previous music which dealt with the struggles in life such as break-ups, homesickness and drifting apart from friends and family. This time the band decided to focus on a much more positive experience: unexpectedly falling in love with someone who has been in front of you the whole time. The chorus sounds like it’s filled with hope, like a silver lining finally appearing after a darker period. This newfound optimism becomes even more meaningful considering the single was recorded in the lockdown period and the band had to record their song in distance and quietness. Let’s hope they retain some of this lightheartedness for future songs as well.
