Demelza’s “Would It Be Enough” has caught our attention, and it is sure to catch yours too!

Once, Demelza were a bunch of students in Birmingham’s Selly Oak, now they are being lauded with praise by BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio. Their fusion of indie-rock and 80s anthemic tunes are serving them well, ensuing a sound that is both instantly recognisable and enormously enjoyable to listen to. Their debut single “Little Me” has found early success with its heartfelt lyrics and riff-driven sound and the buoyant “Would It Be Enough” is certainly a worthy follow up.

The track opens with a deep and resonant bass that coats your ears like honey, before sliding in some surf-y guitars and bright synths for added texture and depth. Building up to an energetic chorus that is guaranteed to get a crowd moving and singing along, the question and title of the track – “Would It Be Enough” – is played off between a contemplative bridge and an obstinate chorus.

Despite the melancholy twinge in the lyrics, the whole song is seething with a sunny attitude and is bound to usher Demelza’s rise in the indie scene.
