‘Never Destroyed’ is a frank examination of an artist’s mind

There’s a frustration behind ‘Never Destroyed’, the latest offering from Dublin artist Dizmation. Inspired by the internal processes of an artist and the compulsive addiction to create, it’s a sonic catharsis that straddles the external forces which guide us. Dizmation is considered in his use of layering, building the solitary notes of electric guitar with raspy vocals and ultimately finding euphoria through the echoing rejoice of gradually-intensifying synthesizers. As the track crescendos, clapping hands guide us to its conclusion: the moment where an artist’s work is released into the universe, existing – at long last – in independence from the emotional ties of its creator. Abstract and intelligent, ‘Never Destroyed’ candidly investigates the human psyche through the expansive capacity of indie artpunk.
