Dude, My Dude invite you for a ‘Bike Ride’ in their raucous new track.

Dude, My Dude began as a bunch of voice memos during Benji and Matthieu’s final months at university, quickly gaining momentum after the pair befriended drummer and producer Matt E William following their move to London. Shortly after the release of their debut track ‘Loser’ – which is currently nearing a million streams of Spotify – they were joined by Angie on bass, ready to face the return of live music.

Filled with raucous energy and oodles of charisma, ‘Bike Ride’ is an ode to the joys and turbulences of youth. As the initial strumming of the acoustic guitar begins to blend with grungy riffs, a sense of spry boisterousness takes over the rhythm, egged on by the comical warning that “It’s about to get real”. Here the band come fully into their own, effortlessly embodying the carefree sound of 90s indie and surrendering themselves to the manic energy of the guitar. The track comes full circle with a quieter reflective ending, returning to the gentleness of the acoustic guitar and blending the band’s voice in a charming, delicate harmony.

A song about the bliss of youth and the sentimental wistfulness it leaves behind, ‘Bike Ride’ is miniature emotional rollercoaster.
