The London-based Nu-funk group burst onto the scene earlier this year and have gone from strength to strength in developing their modern, original and completely un-gimmicky take on jazz and funk music. ‘Revolving Door’ brings a hearty dose of nostalgia to the table, yet is still so incredibly fresh and vibrant. Its glitter-infused, boogie-inducing instrumentals have an almost hypnotic quality, transporting the listener away from reality to an everlasting realm of discotheque exaltation. This reflects the notions of the group’s namesake and lead vocalist, Oli Duke, who used the creation of this song to alleviate his own struggles with mental health, in the hope that the finished product would help others in a similar way.
