We All Know of Florence Nightingale and How She Cared For People. Well, Erika Wester’s New Single Offers Similar Comfort.

“‘Nightingale’ is by no means a happy song, but the dulcet melodic tone sidelines the loneliness and sorrow of the intentions of the lyrics. The signs of a truly excellent artist.”

We All Know of Florence Nightingale and How She Cared For People. Well, Erika Wester’s New Single Offers Similar Comfort.

We all know of Florence Nightingale, her maternal instincts, and the way in which she cared for people. Well, Erika Wester’s new single ‘Nightingale’ offers a similar kind of comfort. ‘Nightingale’ is a song about being lost and questioning why we’re always so hard on ourselves instead of learning from our mistakes and moving forward. Erika began recording ‘Nightingale’ prior to the pandemic and returned to it when the world became somewhat safer, adding extra depth, and almost working out better thanks to the delay in recording. Fans of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Slow Pulp will love Erika Wester.

Erika Wester has gained mass attention through her raw, vintage lo-fi sound, and she’s really beginning to showcase her talent. ‘Nightingale’ is by no means a happy song, but the dulcet melodic tone sidelines the loneliness and sorrow of the intentions of the lyrics. The signs of a truly excellent artist.
