Shake yourself out of a slump with future.exboyfriend’s woozy track “Uhhh”.
Step into future.exboyfriend’s dazzling world of psychedelic indulgence – it’s groovy in here. Hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah, Tyler Harris – the man behind the moniker – creates music inspired by the likes of Tame Impala, MGMT, Prince and Run the Jewels. Hazy, luminescent and slightly disembodying, Harris’ DIY tunes are recorded, mixed and mastered in his own home studio, retaining a stamp of individuality and artistic playfulness.
As the bouncy, jelly-like bass swells into a cascade of glittering sound, we know that we are in for one hell of a psychedelic ride. Despite its evocative title, “Uhhh” is no disappointment, unfolding like a technicolour carpet on a pathway to bliss. Shimmery and distorted, the textures of this track come together into the dazzling firework of the chorus, washing over us with waves of resonant groovy beats and retro synth magic. Dazed but not confused, we leave this track feeling reinvigorated and ready to face the world.
Psychedelic escapism at its best, “Uhhh” is not just a sound that you make when you finally flop into bed, but a sonic journey into Neverland.
