Capturing the confusion of spending your mid-twenties in the midst of a pandemic and a frankly baffling political reality, Gentle Organism’s latest track, “MID-TWENTIES’N’MAD (oh my god)”, puts a humorously-reflective spin on the anxieties of a generation. Saturated in the fuzzy-guitar sounds of our childhood – think Green Day and Smashing Pumpkins – it is both a nostalgia trip and a moment of awakening.
Reminiscent of grungy 90s rock and the emotiveness of pop-punk, “MID-TWENTIES’N’MAD (oh my god)” is the song for all those bewildered and darkly-humoured.
