The single was inspired by Jacko’s experiences, but the true purpose of his music isn’t ever his own story, but the new ones that are created from his musical experiences. Jacko Hooper has been recent tour support to the likes of James Bay, Michael Kiwanuka, and James Blunt amongst many others, so you know that Jacko is verging on breaking the big time.
‘This Was The Earth’ was written and recorded from Jacko’s bedroom with the help of lifelong friend and producer, Josh Trinnaman, who has worked with Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds. The single tells the story of the chaos the world has faced over the last 12 months, it is a somber yet compelling reflection, complemented by his soothing voice, and the blissful acoustic guitar.
