Written in response to a toxic relationship, ‘Feels Good’ speaks to the addictive nature of the things which feel terrible. “You make me feel bad, but it’s all good” scream Kin Crew, the Nova Scotian artist-producer duo. Having reaped the commercial successes of the Canadian Top 40, their upcoming EP – ‘I Swear I’m Okay’ – marks their first release as lead vocalists, and a notable change in direction from chart music. “Our brand is closely tied to mental health”, they say, but “what most people fail to realize is that you can either survive with it or thrive with it”. Full-bodied guitar riffs largely characterize the track, darting in and out of the emphatic crash of percussion in a glorious cacophony.
