Psychedelic dream-pop at its finest, ‘Sinner’ finds splendour in musical risk-taking

The psychedelic lovechild of Tame Impala and M83, Kye Kepler leaves a lasting impression with debut single ‘Sinner’. Part trance, part dream-sequence; the track is airy and casual, pairing stripped down electric guitar with digitally-warped vocals to produce a full-bodied yet understated sound. Kye Kepler - otherwise known as Swedish artist Max Borglowe – carefully paints the track with what he calls “tiny, wonderful sounds”: small audible offcuts that celebrate the potential of each instrument to find new and interesting harmonies. It’s as much a celebration for the musical process as it is for the finished track itself that ultimately facilitates an authentic connection between listener and creator.

Summery, contemplative and vulnerable, ‘Sinner’ offers rare access to the creative practices of music-making.
