LORI TRIPLETT DEALS WITH EX-LOVER IN EMOTIONALLY GRIPPING NEW SINGLE 'IF MY NAME WERE NEW YORK'

“LORI TRIPLETT DEALS WITH EX-LOVER IN EMOTIONALLY GRIPPING NEW SINGLE ‘ IF MY NAME WE'RE NEW YORK’”

Singer-songwriter Lori Triplett’s latest single If my Name were New York is a soft, emotional piano ballad. In this song, Triplett clears her heart about a long-distance relationship in which the other person would rather go on trips to New York than see her. You are immediately pulled into the narrative with her vivid and eloquent lyrics as she describes a long car drive to go see her lover, only to end up disillusioned. The question ‘would you love me a little more if my name were New York’ is an effective and original way to summarize the crux of the story. Triplett’s beautiful, velvety voice is being used to its full advantage. She’s able to inject much feeling into her singing, conveying both her disappointment and anger equally. It seems there’s no better way of getting over your ex-lover than writing a good song about it.
