With a bewitchingly grisly voice calling through the haze in search of adoration, this release has him radiating a vibrant pop prince alter-ego. From the onset of drums which could have been taken from Love is a Battlefield (yes, the Pat Benatar anthem), soon synths reach up to the sky and backing vocals call back to his previous stormy release, ’YEYEYEYEYE’. It’s not long before the track hypnotises you with its bright energy. Ensnaring you with its soul. Daring you to break out and listen to the lyrics which solemnly tackle the struggles of dating in a racist world. 

Proving he can master every genre he turns his mind to, Mauvey is one of the most exciting artists to come out of the musical landscape in the last couple of years and only time will tell where he takes his sound next.
