Oslo Twins release new wave hit ‘The Edge, a dark and industrial journey through the existential depths of curiosity
With influences ranging from new wave to Scandinavian electro, there’s an genre-defying eclecticism to the Oslo Twins’ work. Having met at university, the group have never struggled to find their own unique sound. Their latest offering ‘The Edge’ is no exception, pairing a somewhat ominous instrumental with buoyant lyrics in a glorious amalgamation of sounds. Claudia Vulliamy’s light vocals stand in contrast to the pounding decibels of low-pitched synths: “I’ll do it, I just want to go to the edge with you”. At its heart, ‘The Edge’ is a landscape of curiosity; a “longing for excitement over ennui at any cost” well-portrayed through an otherworldly, industrial use of instrumental.
