Kick back and enjoy yourself with overpass’ feel-good track “Stop the Clock”.

Birmingham’s newest indie act, overpass, are on the rise. Since forming in 2020, the band has gained an ever-growing fan base, earning over 800,000 views across social media, as well as scoring a number of BBC Introducing radio spots and a supporting space for The Clause. Having released their first two singles “One Night Lover” and “Otherside of Midnight” to wide acclaim, overpass are ready to headline a gig of their own, but you are out of luck if you want a ticket – they were sold out within an hour.

overpass’ latest track, “Stop the Clock” is a celebration of all thing hopeful. Opening with a moody base which wouldn’t be out of place on a post-punk track from the depths of Manchester, it does a 180 degree turn and slams us with a wave of joyful, alt-rock guitars. The hi-hatted drums and swooning harmonies keep up the jubilant mood, ushering in a remembrance of distant summer days filled with good times and youthful mischief.

Like the sun finally peering out from behind a cloud, “Stop the Clock” is the sound of light at the end of a long and gruelling tunnel.
