Dreamy lo-fi meets experimental indie in latest hit ‘Taxi’

“There’s something better on the other side of the city, and all it takes is a Taxi to get there.”

Mellow synth chords are softly overshadowed by the nostalgic crackle of a vinyl player as the track gets going. We’re journeying to the lands of yesteryear, where the stresses of everyday life fade away through afforded perspective. ‘Taxi’ is a ballad for lost souls: those of us who confuse adventure-seeking for meaning-making; adrenaline for purpose. It’s a celebration of misplaced yearning – an insatiable desire to solve existentialism through cheap thrills and spontaneous adventure. Woozy and mellow, ‘Taxi’ is as understated as it is powerful. Everra’s cursive vocals glide effortlessly through the sumptuous R&B sounds of Pariz’ experimental production. There’s something better on the other side of the city, and all it takes is a Taxi to get there.
