Like drinking sunshine – bedroom-pop artists Pastil and Renzo release their indulgent collaboration ‘Blurry Days’.

Like drinking sunshine – bedroom-pop artists Pastil and Renzo release their indulgent collaboration ‘Blurry Days’.

Imagine lying in a pool of sunlight that occasionally seeps through your bedroom window sometime in the late afternoon. There is lots to do and time is melting away, but you don’t care – you are too busy blissing out. That is the sound of ‘Blurry Days’, a collaborative track from the emerging Brighton based artist/producer Pastil and songwriter Renzo. A two part endeavour, ‘Blurry Days’ is our first taste of this highly successful collaboration, with a second single ‘Smoke Break’ to follow in its tracks.

Pastil’s vocals are like butter, indulgent and mellow, coating everything in delicious languor. Bobbing along with a lazy kick drum and shimmering snare, this track lends a warm glow to anything and everything – even such mundane things as sitting at a desk, drinking coffee or worrying about time passing by. Although its lyrics speak of insecurities like messing up a relationship or wasting one’s life, ‘Blurry Days’ presents them in a relatable and nonthreatening way, confining them to our collective subconscious like lazy, tame beasts.

Even if it’s the dead of a winter’s night, ‘Blurry Days’ oozes so much sunshine that it will bring warmth to your every pore – like a bottled up summer’s day.
