Feel the cold kiss of the sun with Pedro Samp’s cinematic new track ‘Sunkissed’.

Born in Brazil to English parents, Pedro Samp has learnt to escape through music from an early age. It comes as no surprise that his own music has a peculiar sense of escapism – achieved through the careful construction of mood and atmosphere. Having written soundtracks for mainstream cinema from the age of 19, Pedro has now turned his attention to creating his own music, which retains a richly cinematic quality of his previous work.

Bathed in dark electronics and moody atmosphere akin to peak Depeche Mode, “Sunkissed” is an almost visceral experience. Hushed vocals insistently whisper and hiss into our ear as the bass stokes the skin in gentle, chilly strokes. A stark, echoing guitar melody reminiscent of the XX lies at the core of the track, weaving its way between the sonic textures like a snake on its way to get under our skin. Don’t mistake this ray of sunshine for a warm one – it is chilling and oh so addictive.

Sumptuous and almost nocturnal, “Sunkissed” is the sound of steely seduction, dangerous and enticing.
