Surrender yourself to the seductive charm of Qeeran’s ‘LIKE YOUR MAN’.
Malaysian-born, Melbourne-based singer-songwriter and producer Qeeran has been churning out completely self-produced and self-mixed tracks from the sanctuary of his suburban bedroom. Incorporating a healthy dose of R&B rhythms and relatable, emotive lyrics into his sound, he explores complex feelings of love and longing. Following the success of his debut EP, ‘The Cycles of Love’, Qeeran has released his newest single, ‘LIKE YOUR MAN’ which is inspired by the work of Danish producer Galimatias and his collaboration with Alina Baraz.
Starting off with an ambient sound-bite of rolling thunder and earie instrumentation that could be well at home in a horror film, the track proceeds to dive into an indulgent pool of sound characterised by a strong bass and sibilant hi-hats. The R&B rhythm sways us into false sense of security, before slowing down and blossoming anew with reawakened power. Brimming with themes of jealous and intense desire, it creates a dusky atmosphere of danger and seduction, demanding that we surrender ourselves to its bewitching allure.
