Rebecca Sichon releases indie pop hit ‘Our Garden’

There’s a sense of movement to the track, with the emphatic pounding of drums underscoring playful melodies above. At its heart, ‘Our Garden’ is the story of a toxic relationship. “You stole my thorns inside”, sings Rebecca Sichon, “Just to expose them”. But much like gardens thrive in the right conditions, the track is hopeful for the restorative powers of time. Rebecca Sichon has impressively assured vocals for a nineteen year-old: cascading riffs echoing through a wonderfully textured resonance. Complemented excellently by Vancouver artist Mat Trewhit, the pair bounce off one another through inventive harmonies in the chorus, adding a joyful depth to the track that clearly permeates well into the creative process. Uplifting and intelligent, ‘Our Garden’ pieces together the broken fragments of a painful conversation.
