Dreamy, almost ethereal lead guitar dances over the track, as lead singer Mikkel Dahl recounts his own inner monologue of being a struggling musician. Yet despite his story being a personal one, the age-old feeling of being hungover and down on yourself pervades the track, making it entirely relatable and apt for its end of summer release.
The fact that The Vice’s lead singer Dahl says ‘I only do this for the laughs’, rings true in their second single from EP ‘Songs for No One’, with its captivating fusion of slow grooving indie-psych rock and such emotive and pertinent lyrics.
