Alabama-based Transistor release celebratory indie track ‘Pounding the Pavement’
With an emphasis on traditional guitar tracks, there’s a nostalgic feeling to ‘Pounding the Pavement’. Anthemic yet intimate, the track celebrates the expansive powers of soft-rock. “Dry your eyes tonight. Tomorrow we’ll continue driving… To where we can belong” sings lead vocalist Patrick Davis in his trademark soft cursive. Emphatic drums underscore the track in a style not dissimilar to Circa Waves and Tom Petty. Above all, it’s a cry for help amidst the monotony of feeling stuck. Following the unfortunate deterioration of his own parents’ health, Davis felt obliged to move home and care for them, where he quickly “began to feel stuck”. ‘Pounding the Pavement’ is the sonic manifestation of this flatness – a desperation for something beyond.
