Tom Cambell – aka UncleBoy – is a writer and producer creating magic in his Bristol home studio. Blending hypnogogic sounds with the sensibilities of modern psychedelia, his music doesn’t shy away from complex topics dealing with loneliness, climate anxiety and failure, convey the depths of his mind through the incantation of his song. UncleBoy’s latest track, ‘Blue Forever Blue’ looks forward towards his second album of the same name that is to come in the Spring of 2022, bringing more of his singular charm and indulgent, synesthetic sounds.
Ushered in by palpating percussion, groovy bassline and textured synths, ‘Blue Forever Blue’ sweeps us away into a hazy psychedelic universe where the complexities and perplexities of modern experience begin to slowly melt away. The hazy, reverberating guitar intertwines with the lulling harmonies, slowly building up to a sweeping Tame Impala-like chorus. This is music for dreamers, the ones that are not blind to the world’s turpitudes but still keep reality at an arm’s length.
