Veronicavon delight with their romantic debut track ‘Nothing’s for Certain’.

“Hypnotic and highly addictive, ‘Nothing’s for Certain’ is the intoxicating sound of young love and the preciousness of emotional connection. ”

Veronicavon delight with their romantic debut track ‘Nothing’s for Certain’.

A collaborative project of Chris Hackman (Human Barbie) and Xuan Nguyen (Xuan), veronicavon came into being in 2020, seeking to push the boundaries of dreamy bedroom pop and to preserve the sanity of its creators during that nightmarish time. The resulting sound is that of pure, blissful escapism – delicately upbeat and palpably atmospheric. Although their debut track, ‘Nothing’s for Certain’ is only the beginning for veronicavon, Hackman and Nguyen’s other projects have already been featured on KCRW, Brooklyn Vegan, Spotify Editorial and Companct Cassette, promising a similar success for their collaboration.

‘Nothing’s for Certain’ is one of these tracks that could make any place feel like home. Imbued with warm, hazy atmosphere curtesy of satisfying lo-fi beats, it weaves together sparkling synths chords with lustrous, delicately plucked guitar. Xuan’s sugary vocals playfully float above this sonic sea, vulnerable yet full of sensuality that enriches each beat with lyrical meaning. Lulling and indulgent, the romantic melody seems to envelop everything around it, creating an escapist world of desire and comfort, like a dream you never want to wake up from.

Hypnotic and highly addictive, ‘Nothing’s for Certain’ is the intoxicating sound of young love and the preciousness of emotional connection.
