SHEAL shares an ephemeral ballad ‘Noa’s Song’ from her sophomore album, Courage Again.
Toronto-based singer-songwriter SHEAL balances her musical projects with motherhood and
a teaching career, carefully blending her experiences into one magical whole. Her upcoming
sophomore album, Courage Again, seeks to reflect on the joys and pains of life, from the
miracle of birth to the everyday anxieties that distract us from the things that truly matter.
Recorded when SHEAL was eight-and-a-half months pregnant with her second child, this
album is an expression of her innermost emotions and an endeavour to ground herself in
inner peace.
Part lullaby and part confession, ‘Noa’s Song’ was conceived after the birth of SHEAL’s niece
and completed upon the birth of her own daughter. Capturing the precious delicacy of a
new life faced with a tumultuous world, she weaves her ethereal, echoing vocals through
the gentle melody of intertwining guitars. This is a celebration of existence that thrives
despite pain and fear, brimming with the wonderous moments that make life worth living.
A deeply felt and delicately composed track, ‘Noa’s Song’ is the embodiment of a mother’s profound love.
