Boyu inspires self-belief with debut single ‘Flower Garden’

If there’s a word to describe Boyu’s approach to making music, it’s purposeful. Working towards the upcoming release of his debut EP may sound largely logistical, but 23 year-old multi-instrumentalist Boyu has his eye on the bigger picture. With a lead single entitled ‘Flower Garden’, it’s somewhat fitting for Boyu to describe each track as “beautiful seeds”. Individually, each track finds its own narratives and storylines, but together they blossom into the textured meadowland of the twenty-something experience. ‘Flower Garden’ represents the “popular good lookin’ kid”, celebrating indie-pop beats and manifesting self-empowerment. Optimistic and joyful, the track layers the technological articulation of autotune with organic sounds of rainfall. “Fall into the garden that you grew… you don’t have to be somebody new”, he sings, finding a remarkably polished sound for a track entirely produced in a bedroom with the assistance of producer, Zenii.

Eternally optimistic, ‘Flower Garden’ breaks free from the toxic cravings of external validation and finds solace in the uplifting beats of indie-pop.
