Second single of 2020 ‘Shy Love’ brings Circumnavigate brand of dream-pop sounds to an ethereal high. The 4 piece originate from Oslo, now all based in London. The band showcases a unique blend of Nordic dream pop mixed with modern influences such as Bon Iver & Billie Eilish, The captivating love song follows a blooming relationship where feelings are strong, mutual and obvious, yet unspoken. - two lovers, too shy to confess their feelings but content with it, nonetheless.
I must mention that this song was written and recorded while in lockdown with the band writing everything over video calls and file transfers and fully produced ‘in house’ by lead singer Sigrid Zeiner. Sigrid simple productions techniques and the talents of fellow band members bring this track to life and Sigrid stunning Nordic accent and tones aid this song to feel more emotional and dreamlike, this is helped by the stunning piano melody, this a song shows a band early on in their career being able to craft great songs which many bands may struggle their whole life to fulfill. Circumnavigate has found the formula that suits them best and we can't wait for more.
