Midlands born Dom Malin has been drawn to music from a very early age. Acquiring his first electric guitar at the age of 12, he set out on the path of emotive and electrifying song-writing, which eventually led him to multiple spots on BBC Introducing Lincolnshire. But the journey does not end there, as Dom continues to rock up over 100k views on his past YouTube videos as well as consistent attention from numerous music blogs across the country.
Playful and profound, ‘Wake Up’ addresses our everyday anxieties with a razor-sharp focus and wry wit. The old mixes with the new, as accents of mechanical saloon piano and crackling recordings weave themselves through a vibrantly modern synth line. We are commanded to “Wake up!”, but there is no malice in the lyrics, rather a comradery of a similarly disillusioned soul who no longer wished to live in a dream but strives to construct his own reality.
