“Simultaneously personal and profoundly universal, “Just Kids” is a song that seems to peer into the wells of memory, unearthing the beauty and sadness hidden therein. ”

Relive your youthful heartbreak with Elkvilla’s melancholy track “Just Kids”.

Elkvilla is the solo project of Australian singer-songwriter and producer Adam Dudek, blending acoustic simplicity with the visionary sensibility of post-rock. Recorded and mixed in the solitude of Adam’s Berlin apartment, his exquisite music is ephemeral, dreamy and profoundly human, capturing the beauty and pain of strong emotion. His latest track, “Just Kids”, demonstrates the delicacy of his touch, evoking a hazy summer atmosphere despite being recorded in the midst of winter.

Resting on a deceptively simple acoustic arrangement, “Just Kids” speaks of the bittersweet pain of love and heartbreak made all the more visceral by the inexperience and naivety of youth. Dudek’s warm vocals float in gentle harmony with the backing female voice, creating an impression of a ghostly duet sang by long-parted lovers. Painting familiar images shrouded in the mists of memory and imagination, the track’s honest, wistful lyrics sink deep into our consciousness and tug insistently on our heartstrings.

Simultaneously personal and profoundly universal, “Just Kids” is a song that seems to peer into the wells of memory, unearthing the beauty and sadness hidden therein.
