HONGZA’S SOPHOMORE RELEASE ‘DECEMBER’ CLAIMS THE WINTER MONTH AS THE AMBIENT SEASON FOR HEARTBREAK.
”Who knows where Hongza will be when December rolls around again. We hope it won’t be as bad this year, but then again if it creates art like this, maybe we do?”
Hongza’s sophomore release ‘December’ claims the winter month as the ambient season for heartbreak.
The fraternal twin to the North Londoner’s pained debut single ‘Gone’, this latest release is a shoegaze self-reflection on the actions which led to the end of his relationship. Cathartic in the most melancholic fashion, Hongza’s reverberating voice is enchanting. Bewitching all who listen, it floats over clouds of synths and threads of guitar, which gently weave themselves into a visceral breakdown for songs end. Glistening with elements of Beach House, Wolf Alice and The 1975, Hogza is forging his own path as he follows in the footsteps of the greats.
