Sink into the warm embrace of ‘Daydreams’ with Jack Swing’s latest sparkling track.

Formed in 2016 by Isaiah Ross and Rowdy Kanarek in their hometown of Pittsburgh, Jack Swing is a blend of nostalgia and modernity, paying homage to rock greats such as Led Zeppelin, Nirvana and The Strokes, while also injecting a modern pop sensibility. Following a number of years playing across multiple Pennsylvania radio stations and music festivals, the band used the first year of the pandemic to work on their debut album. Fuelled by the political and social uproar of that chaotic time, their music seeks to empower and uplift its listener, brining joy, hope and promise with its dynamism.

Bouncing on a quirky indie beat, ‘Daydreams’ effortlessly combines retro groves with a distinctly modern feel. Whereas the verses are led by a nostalgic funk guitar and shimmering disco synths, the anthemic choruses are reminiscent of sunny 00s indie – full of good vibes and catchy hooks. As the beat slows down for a sumptuous guitar-solo climax, the circle is complete, ensuring our ultimate surrender to the timelessness of this bubby love-song. ‘Daydreams’ is pure bottled up joy, and the accompanying music video plays into the ecstatic energy of the song by showcasing the band’s merry music making.

Full of colour and promise like the breath of spring air, ‘Daydreams’ is all about new beginnings and the unrelenting pursuit of happiness.
