VULNERABLE, GENTLE, YET SOMEWHAT GRITTY, ‘HOLD ON TO YOU’ IS A COMPLETELY RELEVANT AND SOMEWHAT REASSURING.
“It may only be November, but light that fire, cosy up and let ‘Hold on To You’ start you off on the festive footpath to Christmas.”
It may only be November, but light that fire, cosy up and let ‘Hold on To You’ start you off on the festive footpath to Christmas.
Initially intended as a song for the season of joy and goodwill, Indie Folk artist Jonny Morgan (quite rightly) just felt it unfair to deny the world of his latest single for any longer. Written during the turbulent time that was Lockdown 1.0, ‘Hold on to You’ really captures the importance of holding the ones you love close during ‘unprecedented and uncertain times’ and encapsulates this notion in the form of a vulnerable and honest love song. The song plays heavily on his love of Americana and roots music and is a real showcase of his talent for condensing big and often complicated emotions, into graceful and insightful lyricism and song-writing.
Vulnerable, gentle, yet somewhat gritty, ‘Hold on to You’ is a completely relevant and somewhat reassuring track for Indie-Folk fans everywhere.
