“Like the washed out pictures of a much-loved photo album, ‘Corners Pressed’ revolves around a warm and comforting core with subtle traces of melancholy. ”

Letting Up Despite Great Faults tease a new album with their ethereal single ‘Corners Pressed’.

Founded in Los Angeles by Mike Lee, Letting Up Despite Great Faults has gone through quite a few developments, swapping acoustics for a noisier shoegaze soundscape, and acquiring new bandmates Kent Zambrana, Daniel Schmidt and Annah Fisette. Now based in Austin, Texas, the band craft romantic, woozy music that feels both nostalgic and deeply familiar. Their latest track, ‘Corners Pressed’ looks forward to a new album which promises to deliver deep narratives and lush sounds, delighting fans both old and new.

Evoking the complex nature of memory, ‘Corners Pressed’ is rife with wistful longings and immersive atmosphere. Surfy, melodic guitars and soft percussion lead us into this dreamy track, rolling on like the soft ocean waves. As the subdued vocals blend with hazy distortions, a canopy of sound unfolds before us, alluring and evasive in equal measure. This is classic shoegaze – somnambulant and ethereal.

Like the washed out pictures of a much-loved photo album, ‘Corners Pressed’ revolves around a warm and comforting core with subtle traces of melancholy.
