Seizing the spirit of hope and regeneration that is currently running through the music industry, rex is determined to make her own contribution to the auspicious atmosphere. Having begun to write and perform music since the age of 7, she honed her skills at the prestigious London College of Creative Media, selling out shows at London’s Corsica Studios and Union Chapel concurrently with her studies, and catching the attention of BBC Introducing.
“Stop overthinking” we are told from the very first beat of this jubilant track. As the pop-y beats and groovy guitars propel us further, rex’s light and resonant vocals elicit the feelings of freedom and confidence – a much needed message in these uncertain times. By the last chord, we are instructed to “Stop holding back”, urged on by the danceable rhythm of the track to shake off our worries and hang-ups. There are good times ahead and rex is here to help us enjoy them.
