We all like to think we have a vivid imagination, but perhaps no one has a crazier imagination that Liverpool-born art-pop, self-proclaimed might I add, weirdo, Sean at the Hotel. Sean has returned with his latest single written from… get this… from the point of view of the Tour Montparnasse in Paris. The Tour Montparnasse in Paris is a much maligned skyscraper in the city centre that doesn’t fit in with its more elegant surroundings, the song sees the tower imagining itself as a human struggling to fit in at a birthday party. So whilst you may think Sean is a little bit crazy, there is a method behind the madness.
The song is typical of Sean’s unique way of seeing the world and his ability to empathise, even with a building. Sean uses tropical programmed beats, lush strings, Baroque-style orchestrations, and a big big chorus to create a skyscraping track that is impossible to forget.
