Overcome ‘Times Like These’ with Skymachine’s anthemic track of resilience.

“Like a much needed pat on the back, ‘Times Like These’ is a mantra-like anthem of hope that is the perfect pick-me-up for any despondent soul.”

Overcome ‘Times Like These’ with Skymachine’s anthemic track of resilience.

New Zealand’s Skymachine are back with yet another serving of their unique blend of nostalgic synths and pop-driven melodies. Led by producer and songwriter Brydon, Skymachine arrests isolated moments of existence and turns them into catchy and cinematic sonic landscapes. Their latest track, ‘Times Like These’, stems from Brydon’s own struggles over the past year and captures his journey towards new found hope. Blending together introspective lyrics and euphoric sounds, it seeks to reinstate the lost magic in our lives and looks forward to better times.

‘Times Like These’ is a celebration of resilience and the people that have our backs in moments of uncertainly. As the bustling sounds of the street melt into the wall of staccato synths, a sense of jubilation and release displace our worries. The resonant drum beat keeps up the upbeat mood, punctuating the anthemic chorus which asserts “I know we’re gonna make it out”. This track is all about looking forward, yet the strumming of the retro guitar also brings in a sense of nostalgia, highlighting the importance of our past in shaping the future.

Like a much needed pat on the back, ‘Times Like These’ is a mantra-like anthem of hope that is the perfect pick-me-up for any despondent soul.
