This year has been full of highs and lows but the thing that has kept our spirits high is the incredible talent that have pushed through turbulent times to release music that has filled us and many others with bliss. So to end the year on a positive note here is our list of the favourite releases of 2020.

Their new single ‘Out Of Breath’ was recorded at Beloved Studios in Irvine, inspired by the theme of ‘Summer Love’. John Jin Han cites The War on Drugs as one of the main influences behind the single, and you can tell. They share the same sense of euphoria through the rhythmic bassline and airy synths, combined with melancholic guitar solos.

The title track of GIYA’s latest EP, ‘Almost Real’ is full of bitter-sweet coming-of-age vibes, lifted by quietly jarring synths and pleasingly staccato vocals. Her voice has been compared to Dido in the past, but she’s got a bit more grit than that: clearly aware of her vocal abilities you can tell GIYA really doesn’t want to lean on trills and tricks.
