Ohio artist Violet Temples considers his personal flaws with pop hit ‘Enemy’
Following on from the success of his debut EP Polaris, Violet Temples releases the infectious ‘Enemy’, a smooth and punchy look at personal flaws. Bathing in the lighter melodies of alternative pop, the track marks a distinct move from the darker synthpop undertones characterising his earlier work. Taking inspiration from the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen and Sigrid, ‘Enemy’ is the product of a meticulous production. With a driving beat, ‘Enemy’ makes full use of undulating rhythms and bouncy instrumentals to create a buoyant and danceable sound. Depicting the internal struggle with self-sabotage and a lack of discipline, Violet Temples – otherwise known as Ohio University student Justin Venrick – cleverly finds common ground through a candid look at life’s tribulations.
Catchy and uplifting, ‘Enemy’ is sure to be the soundtrack of the Summer.
