Also known by the name Nina Sundstorm, Writer's Rain has tailored her trade in the warm pubs and friendly embrace of York’s open mic scene. Now back at home in Bristol, she walks the streets with sentimentality lining her soles. This, the first of many tracks delving deep into her emotional core, braces itself against the end of a relationship which has drifted off course. Singing the former friends name with the emotion of a verse-spanning metaphor over calm waves of acoustic guitar, it’s a beauty to behold and only a sign of what else her heart centred song-writing can unlock.
