“Love I Never Had” is APW’s soulful groove from the heart.

Hailing from Manchester, APW is not what you would expect from a working class boy. Proudly Queer, this stage-trained and deeply charismatic songwriter grew up listening to the best of soul and disco, now radiating the energy and the groove of the genres in his own music. With warm, reverberating vocals reminiscent of Stevie Wonder’s, APW is there to whisk us away from the gloom and banality of everyday life into the shimmering world of his musical vision.

APW’s newest single, “Love I Never Had”, is a wistful R&B ballad, centring on the all-consuming pain of loving someone who doesn’t love you quite as much. Despite the sombre subject matter, APW preserves an upbeat, resilient vibe that pulsates through the track with his dynamic harmonies. A very groovy base is our entry point into the track, blending seamlessly with APW’s vibrato vocals. As the track progresses, the plucky guitars and swaying beat generate a shimmering soundscape, rocking us along with the bluesy, sumptuous rhythm.

Seething with raw emotion and sensuality, “Love I Never Had” has the power and presence of R&B classics.
