Welcome to PHILCLARKFUL’s “Front Room” where betrayal is acted out in front of our eyes

Like eavesdropping on a private conversation, “Front Room” places us smack bang in the middle of friendship-group drama, full of betrayal, regret and disappointment. An incredibly honest and personal track from Northampton-based songwriter PHILCLARKFUL, it is a cathartic expression of a real life situation, remembered and turned into music that is in equal parts visceral and enjoyable to listen to.

A deeply atmospheric track, “Front Room” transports us directly into the moment of disintegrating friendships, complete with incidental details like spinning vinyl, muffled chatter and shocking admissions. Recorded and mixed in his own home studio, PHILCLARKFUL’s sound is a delight to anyone who is a fan of shoegaze and the DIY ethos of bedroom pop, full of dreamy guitars, swelling synths and hazy, bright vocals.

Despite its painful and personal subject matter, “Front Room” is an upbeat and engaging track that speaks to PHILCLARKFUL’s resilience, both as a person and as an artist who can find creativity even in moments of darkness.
