PAPER TOWN IS RYAN NEALON’S NEW CAPTIVATING AND EMOTIONAL BALLAD.
“Paper Town, is a soft ballad and shows Nealon’s more vulnerable and emotional side.”
You may remember Ryan Nealon from the infectious Ready to Love Again. His new single: Paper Town, is a soft ballad and shows Nealon’s more vulnerable and emotional side. Nealon’s effective use of his falsetto voice and the stirring, melodramatic sounding chorus is reminiscent of singers like Daniel Bedingfield. He seems to be right at home in this type of genre and improves upon it with original lyrics. The line ‘when I stood in the rain and didn’t care if it could kill me’, for example, is visual and powerful. Seemingly singing about a feeling of emptiness and longing back for better times, Nealon’s vocals are pervasive and genuine. The bridge, where he includes a hopeful note of maybe escaping his ‘paper town’ one day, is the most gripping. Whatever emotion Nealon is feeling, he manages to make you empathize with his situation and get you on his side.
