Back in the game with his sophomore single, 'Villian', this digital hero channels his frustration with a competitive music industry into a tightly produced indie masterpiece. Taking inspiration from AM-era Arctic Monkey's riffs and Jack Garrett's energetic falsetto, Garvie moves through a story arc of jealousy. A feeling explored further in the single's video that allows you to follow his struggle with living in the shadow of his nemesis, Nephew.

As far as lockdown projects go, Garvie certainly has a lot to shout about. While most of us gorged ourselves on uncooked banana bread, this London-based artist taught himself to produce music on the back of a rather abrupt career change from the original goal of writing for other artists. His debut single – a tongue-in-cheek analysis of his own career – embodies the virtual lands of a game console, following an indie artist’s avatar as he attempts to get signed in the cutthroat music industry.
