The Macarons Project debut their mesmerising single ‘Hold Us Tight’.

Canada-based Indonesian sibling duo The Macrons Projects have been playing music together since their childhood and are now ready to show their artistry to the world. After a string of popular covers – including a dreamy rendition of ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ – Ree and Dito set out to record an original song, one which would embody their organic and cinematic approach to music. Recorded in a DYI home studio in collaboration with producer Jacob Montague, their debut single ‘Hold Us Tight’ is an indie-folk ballad that perfectly captures the bitter-sweetness of long-distance love, inspired by Dito’s own relationship with his wife.

‘Hold Us Tight’ is one of those songs where every part feels natural and in perfect harmony with the whole. At its core lies a simple, yet evocative melody constructed out of conversing acoustic guitars – mimetic of two distant lovers. As it unfolds, the track ushers in some booming percussion, that seem to almost liquify the sound and cause it to wash over us. Dreamy, double tracked vocals float above it all, gradually transforming into gentle harmonies during the lulling chorus – melancholy yet saturated with emotion and palpable warmth.

Like sinking into the warm embrace of a lover, or into the indulgent hold of memory, ‘Hold Us Tight’ consumes your whole being and seduces with its raw power.
