Dublin based singer-songwriters P I O and Tobi- A have teamed up for what can only be described as Lo-fi perfection. P I O’s music is filled with narrative and fuses various genres together, and the finished result is an eclectic blend of music so pure, you really see his personality shine through. With his music influences stemming from the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, all the way to J.R.R Tolkien you begin to understand how he fills his music with soul and stories. 

Exceptionally witty, somewhat zany and of course ‘spooky’- Faux Real’s latest contribution to the world of avant-pop ‘Spooky Bois’, is a spook-tacular sonic success. Pitching themselves firmly in the camp of avant-pop psychedelia, Faux Real have transported the genre to new heights with their use of kaleidoscopic and exuberant synth-scapes on the track, making for a totally intoxicating musical experience.

The Jones Project once again delivers a sonic snack of delicious calm and tranquillity with most recent single ‘Mellow Drama’. Sonic and lyrical threads of both coolness and anxiety interweave on the track to create a musical nod to the notion, ‘don’t sweat the small stuff’. Psychedelic basslines flirt with soulful lead vocals, while an almost meditative rhythm guitar cavorts in the background, to create a welcome offering of musical respite from the sentiments of introspective apprehension found in the artist’s lyricism.

A synth-heavy and aptly-named dose of musical medicine- Latenight Honeymoon’s latest single ‘Elixir’ is the perfect sonic pick-me-up to round out the year. By embracing their more electronic sensibilities, Latenight Honeymoon have triumphed once again in producing an absolute corker of an indie-electro-pop ballad.
